F100, F206 Club Challenge Round #1 is SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 26th!

The F100 and F206 season is almost upon us! On SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 26th at Willow Springs Kart Track in Rosamond, CA, F100 hits the track for the first race of the 2017 season and the first ever race for the new Club Challenge series. F100 expects another large turnout in the traditional F100 classes, as well as continued growth in the F206 classes. You don't want to miss it!

WHAT IS THE CLUB CHALLENGE?
The Club Challenge harkens back to the early days of F100, when F100 was a traveling series that ran only a few classes as part of local club races. The Club Challenge brings F100 back to our roots.

For the Club Challenge, F100 and F206 will join with local clubs for their club events. Local clubs will run the show. This means that racers will register the day of the race (pre-entry is not offered by most host clubs) with the club and the clubs will be responsible for the eniritey of the race day. F100 will be on-site to provide support to the club, as needed. F100 and F206 will give racers in the applicable F100 and F206 classes points towards the Club Challenge Season Championship for each and every official Club Challenge race.

There will be no daily trophies awarded through F100 directly, but if the host clubs provide trophies F100 and F206 will make sure those are handed out. F100 and F206 will award year-end championship trophies at the end of the Club Challenge season.

The Club Challenge is a great way for all racers to join in on the F100 and F206 fun while supporting local clubs and the sport as a whole!

WHO CAN RACE AT THE CLUB CHALLENGE?
EVERYONE IS WELCOME! Subject to certain limitations, everyone is welcome to race at the Club Challenge. THIS INCLUDES ALL LEVEL 1 and LEVEL 2 racers. Level 1 racers are welcome and encouraged to race in the Level 2 Clubman classes at the Club Challenge. The goal is to have very large fields to add to the local club races and to have a fun day of racing for all participants and we welcome all racers to participate!

WHAT CLASSES ARE OFFERED AT THE CLUB CHALLENGE?
Only certain classes are offered at the Club Challenge. This is done intentionally. First, we want to be able to join as many clubs as possible, and this means we need to have as few run groups as possible to make it easy for clubs to add us to their schedule. When we run standalone events, we have a full day to have as many classes as we like, but for the Club Challenge we need to condense our classes to fit into as few run groups as possible. Second, we want large fields and limiting the number of classes and run groups will help to fill the track with racers! We encourage all our normal racers to attend and race in one of our Club Challenge classes, regardless of their license level or the class they usually race in at the SoCal Championship.

FK2, FK2 Clubman, FK2 Clubman Masters and LO206 classes will be offered. If there is enough demand prior to the race, we will also run the FC2 and FJ2 classes.

The Clubman and LO206 classes are the only classes that will be given points towards a Club Challenge Season Championship.

The Club Challenge is designed for racers to enjoy a fun, friendly and competitive day at the track!

WHAT ARE THE TIRE RULES FOR THE CLUB CHALLENGE?
The Level 2 Clubman classes utilize the Maxxis SLR as their spec tire. If you do not have Maxxis SLR tires you will not be eligible to race in the Level 2 Clubman classes, however, you will be eligible to race in the regular Level 2 classes. The regular Level 2 classes utilize an approved tire rule. LO206 classes will utilize the Bridgestone YLC tire.

Quick Guide: How to Familiarize Yourself with F100 Rules

F100 has released a Quick Guide to help racers utilize and familiarize themselves with the F100 Rules. The Quick Guide walks racers through the various documents and how they are utilized to form the complete F100 Rule Set.

Since its inception, F100 has utilized the NKA Trakbook for its basic rules and provided its own set of Supplemental Rules. The NKA Trakbook is an insurance provided set of rules that lay the foundation for hosting kart racing events. The Supplemental Rules are rules specific to F100.

For 2017, F100 has tried to simplify how the Supplemental Rules are used by breaking the rules into different documents - one for engine supplemental rules, and another for general supplemental rules. Along with the Supplemental Rules, F100 also has specific Class Structure documents for the various series that detail specific engine, pipe and weight combinations in the various classes.

For those curious, while it may be easier to have a single document that contained all rules, F100 is not its own insurance provider. F100 must utilize the basic rules provided by its insurance provider and then write supplements for specific rules. By breaking down these supplements into different documents, F100 hopes to provide a more user friendly set of rules for racers. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause but we hope this Quick Guide will help racers navigate through the Rule Set more easily.

We hope the Quick Guide, linked below, will prove helpful to racers:
