New F100 Rule Supplement and Schedule Update

RULE SUPPLEMENT
F100 has released their 2015 F100 Rule Supplement. The 2015 Rule Supplement is mostly the same as in 2014, except that it has been shortened significantly as many extraneous rules have been removed. Beyond the deletion of some rules, there are 3 changes that are of note.

1st, F100 will utilize IKF engine rules for the KPV/HPV. There are very few differences between IKF rules and the NKA rules that were run last year, and for most racers this will have no effect as their engines are already built to IKF specifications. Engines built to NKA rules will still be allowed to compete in F100 classes in 2015 with additional weight added. More information will be available with the release of the 2015 class structure.

2nd, USED MG SK "White" tires, as used in SKUSA and LAKC competition, are now legal for Novice level classes. Please note that new MG "White" tires are not allowed in any F100 class.

3rd, F100 has expanded the number of 2-stroke oils approved for use. Oil from Burris, Maxima, Motul, Redline and more are now F100 legal for use in all classes.

MEMBERSHIP
2015 membership information has also been released, and memberships will be available for purchase very soon. F100 has added 3 new types of memberships to the membership options for 2015.

Last year's standard membership, now known as a Silver level membership, is still the same price at $50.

Along with the Silver level, F100 has added a Bronze, Gold and Platinum level membership. The Bronze level membership allows racers to be included in the F100 points championship, while the Gold and Platinum level memberships provide access to the Bridgestone tire group buy, which will provide significant savings on YLC tires. Platinum level members also receive a complete set of custom F100 number panels. Check out the membership information at the following link:

SCHEDULE
F100 has updated the 2015 season schedule with race dates for both Grange events. F100 will take to the track at Grange on May 16th and November 29th in 2015. More information on the July F100 event will be available very soon. Check out the schedule information at the following link:

Parilla Sudam/Nordam: The 100cc Spirit of Pure Kart Racing Lives On!

With all the fuss recently about the new and expensive X30 engine and upgrades for the Rotax Max, the Fast 100 Karting Blog felt it was a good time to re-introduce readers to the beauty and affordability of direct drive simplicity!  This engine is 125cc direct drive motor and it is used in South America a great deal because it is so cheap to run, in comparison to other engines of similar power levels.  With over 33hp on tap, these engines easily outpower a TaG motor, which generally has around 28hp, such as an X30 or Rotax, without the fuss of electronics, on board batteries and expensive clutch parts.  This engine brings back memories of old school ICA power and purity!  Pure karting at its best!
