F100 Releases 2015 Class Structure, Confirms July Race Date

The Formula 100 Karting Series has released their 2015 Class Structure. The class structure is similar to last year. Changes include a reversal of the licensing levels, with Level 1 now becoming the top level, a more inclusive Masters age class, and the utilization of a faster engine package for the Senior Advanced class.

Level 1 classes, now the top level of F100 competition, in the Senior and Masters age groups, now have more options for racers. FK1 Masters (FK1M) now has options for light (360 lb) and heavy (390 lb) racers with KPV/HPV and KT100 engine packages.

FK1 now has more options as well. FK2 racers will find a home in the FK1 class, which combines the KPV/HPV 3 engine package with the KT100 Formula Y engine package, just the same as in 2014. The FK1 class is the same as last years FK2 class.

For FK3 racers from last season, the second of the FK1 classes, the FK1 Advanced class, is the perfect fit. This class will utilize the faster KPV/HPV 4 and KT100 approved open pipe package, similar to what was used during the California State Championships. As a result, this class will provide a little more speed and quicker lap times as compared to last years Advanced class.

The class structure for Juniors and Cadets is much the same as in 2014, except for the License Ladder change, with Level 1 classes now serving as the highest level of F100 competition. This means, for example, that last years FJ2 class is now known as FJ1, FC2 is now known as FC1. Level 1 classes are now the highest level. Level 2 classes are now the first step in the license ladder. The rest of the class structure for Juniors and Cadets is much the same as last years class structure.
