F100 has released the 2014 F100 Rule Supplement. The supplement has not grown much in length, but a few key changes have been to enable F100 to provide our racing with an even better experience. Please view the rule supplement at the following link:
Of note, are small changes to the class structure, race day structure and tire rules. Most everything else is substantially similar to the 2013 rules. F100 strives for consistency and predictability, and while important updates have been made, the core of F100 remains the same.
For 2014, F100 will again utilize Bridgestone tires for their spec tire classes. Level 1 (Novice) classes will utilize the F100 approved open tire rule, as they did in 2013. After much review, testing and consideration, F100 has concluded that for 2014, Bridgestone tires provide the best combination of performance, familiarity and availability for our racers.
The race day structure has also been slightly modified, with qualifying, 2 heats and a main becoming the standard procedure for all F100 events. The results of the F100 Racer Survey showed that most racers were not excited about potentially utilizing pea pick at more events. The new F100 structure provides a great compromise between the focus on clean racing that pea pick provides, and the safety and fairness that the traditional qualifying/heat/main structure allows. The new F100 structure will utilize qualifying to set the grid for the first heat. The finishing order for the first heat will determine the grid for the second heat. Each heat will count towards the points structure, utilizing a different "heat points structure" for points awards. The average finishing position over the 2 heats will be used to determine the grid for the main event. This structure provides points for excellence in on track endeavors, while prioritizing clean racing and awarding the achievement of a main event victory.
By popular demand, F100 has also added a 7th Round to the 2014 calendar, to be held on July 26th at Adams Motorsports Park. Adams is an excellent and historic track. F100 is very excited to be working with Adams Motorsports Park again in 2014!
We really appreciate all of our loyal racers and we look forward to an excellent and exciting 2014 season!
