F100 San Diego Fun Race is SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 11th at Qualcomm Stadium

F100 drivers have been invited to join the San Diego Karting Association for their club race on SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 11th. This is a great opportunity to race at a new facility that many have never been to, to have fun and to continue to spread the word about F100! While this will be a non-points race, there has been a good amount of interest already and we expect a strong turnout of F100 racers for this event.

The cost for race entry is $70 and all registrations will be handled on-site. Gates open at 7am and drivers meeting is at 8:45am.

F100 plans to run 2 Senior classes at the event, FK2 and FK2 Clubman. FK2 Clubman will be a new class for 2017 but will debut at the San Diego race. FK2 Clubman is basically FK2 but with a points championship and a spec tire(although the San Diego race is not for points). The Maxxis SLR is the spec tire for FK2 Clubman, and no other tire will be allowed in the FK2 Clubman class. If you do not have Maxxis SLR tires, the FK2 class is the spot for you as it will still utilize the Approved Open Tire Rule that has always been used in the FK2 class.

After hearing from many racers, we feel that the FK2 Clubman class is a great addition to the F100 class roster and a great place for racers to compete for points before ascending to a Level 1 class, should they desire to do so.

NOTE: F100 SoCal FK1 Senior racers will either need to borrow or otherwise procure a 3 pipe or add weight to their kart to meet the class rules for FK2 or FK2 Clubman at this event.

If racers from any other F100 affiliated class are interested, please contact us. This includes shifter, LO206, Juniors and Cadets. We have room and would love for you to join us as well!

We hope to see you in San Diego on September 11th!

Please note that in order to help cover the higher cost associated with hosting a race at a facility such as Calspeed, F100 has added a few dollars to the price of race day entry and pit passes. The prices will remain the same as the F100 SoCal Round #5 which was also held at Calspeed. We do our absolute best to keep prices as low as possible and with large turnouts and continued support we will be able to continue to lower costs and make racing as affordable and accessible as possible for our racers. We greatly appreciate your understanding and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

CHANGES TO PRE-ENTRY PROCESS FOR MEMBERS: In order to help F100 better prepare for events by providing more accurate and predictive entry numbers, F100 is also changing the registration policy for F100 Members. The discounted member entry price will now ONLY be available through PRE-ENTRY. All racers registering on race day will now pay the same price, regardless of their F100 membership status. This is not done as a punishment, but instead to encourage racers to pre-enter for events which will help F100 greatly in its hiring of race day staff, race day scheduling, and all the other things that go into putting on a top notch racing event for our racers!

Pre-entry is NOW OPEN. Pre-entry closes THURSDAY, August 25th at 11:59pm. Please see the following link to pre-enter:

The LO206 Junior class will utilize the stock black slide with a 310 lb minimum weight, while the LO206 Senior class will utilize the stock black slide with a 370 lb minimum weight. Both the Formula 206 LO206 Junior and Senior class will use the MG HZ Red as the spec tire in sizes 4.5 front and 6.0 rear. The full Briggs and Stratton LO206 ruleset, as adopted by the NKA, will be utilized for engine tech.

F100 SoCal Round #6 DATE CHANGED TO SATURDAY, AUGUST 27th; September Fun Race Date and Location Announced

After some time off, F100 SoCal is getting ready to hit the track for Round #6 of the 2016 season. Originally scheduled for Sunday, August 21st, due to circumstances outside the control of F100, the race date for F100 SoCal Round #6 has been changed. F100 SoCal Round #6 will now take place on Saturday, August 27th at Calspeed Karting Center in Fontana, CA. The location and the track configuration have not changed. Hopefully, the extra few days will give racers ample time to prepare for the event and allow more racers to take part. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Along with the date change for Round #6, F100 has also planned a non-points, fun race for Sunday, September 11th. F100 racers are invited and encouraged to travel to San Diego, CA to race with other F100 racers and the San Diego Kart Association. F100 will run two classes, both utilizing the FK2 rules (more on this soon). More information on this fun race will be announced shortly, but please keep this date in mind. F100 can help with kart transportation as well, if needed.

With these two exciting events coming up, as well as remaining points races at Willow Springs and at Grange, F100 SoCal is looking forward to an excellent finish to an exciting 2016 racing season! We look forward to racing with you!
